Come to me my lovely
Come to me my darling
Hold me close
Come to me in the misty moon
Come to me my lovely, by the light of the misty moon
And lie with me my darling, till the late of the afternoon
Hold me close ’til dark of evenin’
Hold me close and don’t be leavin’
Come to me by the light of the misty moon
Captain Tyrrell’s daughter was in love with Lachlan Keys
He worked the farms and ditches and her mother she weren’t pleased
When he saw his girl a roving Tyrrell followed her to town
When he saw her wrapped in Lachlan’s arms he vowed to take him down
To her lover her heard her say
Come to me my lovely, by the light of the misty moon
And lie with me my darling, till the late of the afternoon
Hold me close ’til dark of evenin’
Hold me close and don’t be leavin’
Come to me by the light of the misty moon
Her mother had a temper and her rage could not swayed
Our honour must be rectified is all that she would say
The Captain called the Doolahn boys they set with all haste
And stabbed poor Lachlan fifty times about the chest and face
And on his dying breath they heard him say
Captain Tyrell’s daughter heard the bad news from the maid
So she slit her fathers throat while in his bath he lay
Then she used a kitchen towel to remove her mothers breath
And the Doolahn’s house she set to flame with boys drunk in their beds
And the Doolahn boys all burned to death
Captain Tyrrell’s Daughter was to hang on a fine spring day
But those that gathered stood in shock and the priest he past away
When the ghost of Lachlan Keys appeared there at her side
And hissed come with me darling by Lords grace I survived
They hung the vicar in her frock so the law would have it's way
And the crowd they did applaud when they heard those lovers say!

The Rising Sun
Many years ago I liked a drink or two
Truth be told I still do
When it all gets too much for this family man
I walk into a pub and drink everything I can
So kiss me on the cheek and send me on me way
I'll be back again with the new born day
When the cider, beer and whiskey of the long night's done
I'll come crawling through the door with the rising sun
The years have made me a sensible man
And I pull my weight the best I can
But the beast inside calls me now and then
And I like to go out and get shitfaced with my friends

The Shark of Galway Bay (Declan Finnegan’s Ghost)
Prologue
Well, the waters of the west
Get warmer day by day
And the creatures of the south
Come north in search of prey
And that’s how it came be
That unexpectedly
A bloody great white shark
Found home in Galway Bay
Chapter One - The Loan Shark
Well Finnegan was man
Who had problems with a loan
A shark had lent him cash
But the interest had grown
Finnegan’s only asset
His fathers fishing boat
Which the loan shark would accept
If he could prove that it could float
So off they set to sea, the shark thinking of his fee
He checked it for and aft and from the bilges to the mast
When he looked over the side, the paintwork for to see
He looked into the smile of a mighty shark who had him for his tea
Lets raise a pint of whiskey
And 10 gallons of the dark
To the ghost Declan Finnegan
And his bloody great white shark
Lets raise a pint of whiskey
And let's drink it all the day
To the ghost of Declan Finnegan
And the Shark of Galway Bay
Chapter 2 - The Captain
The Captain of the Guarda
Saw the loan shark as a friend
And asked of Declan Finnegan
Just how he’d met his end
And despite his protestations
Declan led him to the spot
And before the village fleet
The shark he ate the cop
And with mighty cheer their anchors they did haul
The shark they let ‘im bide with his gut full of law
They had a massive party o’er 5 nights and a day
Then they gathered round at Finnegan’s, to hear what he had to say
Chapter 3 - The Great and Glorious
Now free of the evil captain
And his mate the old loan shark
The people of the town
Had cash to throw around
So they built a splendid golf course
The best that could be found
And invited all world leaders
To relax and play a round
So came the great and glorious, counting POTUS in their fold
And set to have a conference, to count up all their gold
Then Finnegan took them sailing to catch something for the dish
Then he fed them one by one to his dirty great big fish
Epilogue
Now as you can imagine
Not everyone was pleased
So Fin and his fishy friend
Faked death and went to sea
They found a Greenland inlet
That Globe had kindly warmed
Where they lured in neo-nazis
To feed to his fish’s spawn

6 'til 2
On Afternoons and lates
There'd be no escape
The wages made it home
Pretty much unscathed
But when your man’s on earlies
He'd be out the place by two
And payday came on Thursday
So what’s a man to do
And It’s out the back
Past the Chargehand’s Shed
Over the fence
Through the gap in the hedge
He'll see you at the bookies
And the old Nags Head
By the time she’s at the door
He'll be off his tiny head
The wives are at the gate
But they can bloody wait
Cause there’s a tip on a horse
And a name on a pint
A fight in the bar
On a ten pint night
The weekends starting early
For your man and his idle mates
On the night he wed
Her waters went and broke
And the screaming twins arrived
The year he got to vote
Now he's twenty bloody three
And his wife's the enemy
This isn't what he thought he'd be
Life's down the lavatory
He’s handy with his fists
Especially when he’s pissed
And he gives his girl a clout
So she throws the fucker out
Now the maintenance it's late
So the court appointee waits
Outside the factory gates
While he's making his escape

Naked Body
Sees her at the window busy in her day
Wonders if she ever thinks of him the way
That he's been thinking of her
Her bare skin in the sun
Laughing with embarrassment
At what they've gone and done
He dreams about her naked body
Running 'round the bed
Making him feel wonderful
And messing with his head
He dreams about her naked body
Running down the stairs
Twice around the garden
Ignore the neighbour's stares
He could be the doctor
She the naughty nurse
Run out of the funeral
Have it off in the hearse
Dressed up like his mother
Tied up to the chair
Can of Anchor squirty cream
Rubbed into their hair
Then one sunny afternoon
They end up face to face
He stumbles invitation
She says come to my place
They talk about the weather
They talk about TV
They take off all their clothes
And jump on the settee
He dreams about her naked body
Running 'round the bed
Making him feel wonderful
And messing with his head
He dreams about her naked body
Running down the stairs
Twice around the garden
Ignore the neighbours
Frantic calls for armed police
Complaints about the naturists

The Four Winds Blow
My Girl says to me
If I die a sea bird I will be
I’d fly far from this island
Upon an ocean breeze
I’d take to winds and tides
And leave the humans be
Wander round the world
Forever to be free
Out where the four winds blow
Across the seven seas
High on an ocean swell
I’ll see my girl again
My girl was washed away
Taken on a wind swept day
She heard across the water
A storm was on its was
She fought the rising tide
until her passing day
She was so much braver
Than ever I could be
My girls not lost at sea
At the oceans edge
she comes to sing to me
Out where the four winds blow
Across the seven seas
High on an ocean swell
I’ll see my girl again
Where the four winds blow

Up The Edith
03:10
|
|
||
As he walked out one evening
On a Belgian street in spring
He faced the world so bold true
And wondered what the night would bring
A Wonder of young manhood
Lost in European flair
He drew night air into their lungs
And then began to sing
Chorus Fair ladies, fair ladies come sit beside me do
We can have a little chat maybe have a little drink or two
Fair ladies, fair ladies if anything goes wrong
We’ll be up the Edith when the morning comes along
He first met Lilly Luxembourg
And then he met French Lou
He passed on German Hildegarde
And a Guatemalan girl called Sue.
But with the lovely Linda from Liverpool
Things happened awful swift
And while their knees were all a tremble
They shared a little gift
Chorus
Monday through to Tuesday it was small as small could be
Wednesday through to Thursday it grew so alarmingly
By Friday it had a face and two little eyes a blinking
On Saturday it opened up it’s mouth and then began a singing.
What did it sing?
Chorus
And this what the doctor said
Chorus
un deux trois allons-y

Oh So Groovy

Oh So Groovy
So here we are at the top of the trees
There’s cash in the bank and a cure for disease
There’s plenty of food and the water runs clean
Surely everything's looking all so groovy
So here we are at the end of the line
It’s looking more and more like we’ve run out of time
But while sit on this beach and watch the sun on the sea
Surely everything’s looking all so groovy
So here we are at the edge of the cliff
Millions dead on the rocks where the 1 percent live
More misery death is that all we’ve achieved
Suddenly nothing’s looking all so groovy
And it's
1234 hope there ain't a world war
5678 The planet don't disintegrate
ABCD we don't kill the honey bee
XYZ we don't starve to death
So let's pack the van and leg it down to sea
This bloody job well it's just killing me
Let's grab the kids and turn our backs on it all
Suddenly everything’s looking all so groovy
